PRIMARY SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP AND UPPER PRIMARY SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATION
     The Examination cell of the Directorate of Educational Research and Training, conducts Scholarship Examinations for both Primary and Upper Primary students of the State since 2006. Interested students studying in class V and class VIII from all the schools of the state can appear for the examination.
     The objectives are to identify and recognize students with academic talent, providing them a platform to appear in competitive examinations and to provide financial assistance to successful students. The examination is held in 63 centres in all the 15 sub divisions under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional School Education Officer (SDSEO).
     Advertisement regarding the conduct of the exam is widely published through leading newspapers of the State as well as through the office of the SDSEOs. The examination consists of two core papers which is as follows:

2 | Paper II: SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE TEST | 100 | To assessed the student’s knowledge, understanding of students in respect of school subjects. |
        Mental Ability and Scholastic Aptitude Test shall help in developing students of forming conclusions, judgments, or inferences from facts. Thus, the pattern is also going to focus more on speed for future competitive examinations of students in future. Conclusion: The list of successful students is then sent to the Directorate of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) for selection and scholarship is awarded accordingly.

Tenure of the Scholarship:
        The tenure of the Primary/Upper Primary Scholarship is three years subject to good conduct and satisfactory progress.
        The Primary Scholarship is payable at Primary and the Upper Primary Scholarship at Upper Primary. The officer in charge of these Scholarship are the Sub-Divisional School Education Officer and the District School Education Officer respectively.
